Product Description

Specification :

The Self Recording Rain gauge (SRRG) consists of a rain water collector and a rainfall recording mechanism mounted on a base. The rainfall measuring unit consists of a float chamber containing light metal float and a siphen chamber.  The chart is wound on rotating drum driven by mechanical clock which rotates 1 revolution in 25 hours. The float rises as per the rainfall & so the recording  pen  also  rises  plotting  a  line  of  on  the  chart. When the siphen chamber is filled completely, the water in it drains out completely called "Siphoning". When siphoning occurs, the pen fixed on the float rod falls to the zero mark on the chart and the gauge is ready to record rainfall again for 10 mm or 25 mm rainfall.

High-Precision Rainfall Measurement

Engineered for reliable accuracy, the Self Recording Rain Gauge provides clear data with a readability of 0.2 mm, making it ideal for professional weather monitoring, agronomic studies, and research projects. Its specialized recording charts offer detailed temporal analysis of precipitation events.

Robust Design for All-Weather Use

Constructed with durable materials and a lockable case, this rain gauge ensures longevity and security in outdoor environments. The ground-mounted installation method and compact dimensions (height 60 cm, diameter 20 cm) enable stable positioning in a variety of locations.

Effortless Maintenance & Operation

Maintaining the Self Recording Rain Gauge is straightforward with simple manual cleaning. Accessoriesincluding spare charts and a fiber penstreamline setup and usage. The device is optimized for ease of handling by meteorological personnel, researchers, and educators alike.

FAQs of Self Recording Rain Gauge:

Q: How does the Self Recording Rain Gauge operate?

A: The rain gauge utilizes either a tipping bucket or float mechanism, depending on the specific model, to measure and record rainfall automatically onto special rain gauge recording charts.

Q: What is the process for installing the rain gauge?

A: This instrument is designed for easy ground mounting. Simply position it in an open area free from obstructions to ensure accurate rain collection and data recording.

Q: When should the recording charts and fiber pen be replaced?

A: Recording charts and the fiber pen should be replaced once the chart has been fully utilized or if the pen shows signs of depletion, ensuring continuous and precise rainfall tracking.

Q: Where can this rain gauge be used?

A: It is suitable for meteorological stations, agricultural fields, research environments, and educational institutions throughout India and beyond.

Q: What maintenance is required for optimal performance?

A: Maintenance involves simple manual cleaning of the gauge, especially after heavy precipitation events, to prevent debris accumulation and maintain measurement accuracy.

Q: How do users benefit from this self-recording device?

A: Operators gain the advantage of automated, high-resolution tracking of rainfall data, enabling better analysis for weather forecasting, crop management, and research studies.
